town of Joceri
Joceri is a small town near the western border of the nation of Sturmbaud. Although the population of Joceri isn’t very large (only 17,000+), it does see a large traffic of notable personages from the larger cities of Sturmbaud as well as visitors from its parent nation of Thyssen. The town of Joceri takes its name from a famous Thyssen Furylord who won several large battles in the 18th Cognus to secure the area for Thyssen rule. When Furylord Hemmet Joceri decided to finally retire after 37 years of service to the Crownbearers of Thyssen, he was allowed to claim title rule of any of the towns in the province nations of the Thyssen Hegemony. With fond memories of the people and environs of Sturmbaud, the aging Furylord chose the town of Klyness, which was shortly renamed Joceri by decree of Anaxis Brecht the 26th Crownbearer of the Thyssen Hegemony.
As Dehass, Hemmet Joceri served as leader of the town for twenty-four years, during which time he was considered a robust and fair leader. His influence and experiences are the primary reason that 53 years after his death; the town has such a reputation as a resort destination for so many of the upper caste who have a taste for the beauty of the wilderness mingled with the comforts of the much larger cities.
The current Dehass of Joceri is Geffe Winterhalter, a half-elven scion of an elvish Potter and a human immigrant Julfland mother. Joceri is currently enjoying a relatively peaceful period, having only minor problems from the Barbarian clans of the Fallow Lands to the west and only an occasional bout of intrigue involving the raiders of Paynel to the north. The Palgani Arena that stands just beyond the northern gates of Joceri serves as a good source of income and notoriety, as well as a controllable outlet for some of the more violent passions of the citizens and their visitors.
